We’re excited to announce we have new owners joining the group this month. Paul and Karin Mahar will be opening their co-brand store Speedy Signs & EmbroidMe in Paraparaumu, Kapiti Coast, approximately one hour north of the Wellington CBD.
Paul was previously a Snap-on Tools franchisee and knows the area well. His Snap-on training was in Dallas so he already has experience of an American based franchise system. Karin has been a primary school teacher although she is now looking forward to the challenge of being part of the business.
Speedy Signs & EmbroidMe Porirua-Kapiti’s store hours are 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Speedy Signs and EmbroidMe are business models that lend themselves to the ideal entrepreneur, with incredible growth potential. Franchisees can grow highly profitable businesses within the support structure of a franchise network receiving ongoing operational and marketing assistance from the Support Office.

About Speedy Signs
Speedy Signs was founded in 1998 with a pilot store in Penrose, Auckland. Now approaching 20 years in New Zealand the group now operates in 24 locations from Whangarei to Invercargill, making it New Zealand’s largest sign network. Speedy Signs is affiliated with the international brand Signarama who have close to 1,000 locations operating in over 40 countries, making them the largest signage network in the world.
Speedy Signs design, manufacture, and install signs that will help businesses grow faster. Their installation service means they are a one-stop-shop signage provider. This service, partnered with the strength of the national network, means Speedy Signs’ clientele includes both large and small, national and regional businesses and organisations.
EmbroidMe is the world’s largest branded apparel franchise with close to 350 outlets in 15 countries. Since commencing franchising in 2001, EmbroidMe has become the world leader in branded apparel and promotional products.
New Zealand’s pilot store was launched in 2006 by Grant and Sarah Archibald, New Zealand master licensees for EmbroidMe and Speedy Signs. Not having come from the industry it was important that they knew the business inside out, so that once they began franchising they were able to give support to the franchisees. Once franchising commenced it gained momentum very quickly. There are now 12 locations from Auckland to Dunedin giving the brand national coverage.
